Empfin Solutions strive to be the unique trusted partner in facilitating the provision of financial solutions for organisations and individuals.

We are an Old Mutual franchise providing professional financial solutions for businesses as well as individuals and our brilliant team consists of fully accredited, experienced professionals who have a passion for satisfying customer needs and providing client-centric service.

HISTORY

Empfin Solutions was founded in 2010 by Andre Claassens and Hannes Norval, two experienced executives from the Financial Services industry who held senior positions within Old Mutual and still have strong networks both there and in the financial services industry. The Empfin Solutions franchise model is unique in the sense that the focus is primarily on advising and servicing umbrella pension and provident funds. To complement this, we boast a team that can assist the staff members in these organisations and other individuals with personal financial planning.

  • Hannes Norval
    Hannes Norval B. Com (Hons), MBA

    Hannes worked for Old Mutual for 25 years where he held various senior management positions. He spent half of his career in the administrative and marketing functions of the asset management business (investments) and the other half in employee benefits/corporate. Hannes has extensive experience in people management, administration, marketing and corporate customer relationship management. He is currently an adviser to a portfolio of pension and provident fund customers.

  • André Claassens
    André Claassens CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, MBA

    André has been in the Financial Services Industry for just over 38 years – first as a financial advisor and thereafter in Sales Management.  He held several senior positions in Old Mutual during this time. André has first-hand experience of starting up new businesses and his international exposure includes two years in India where he developed and implemented a new distribution model for a large international financial services business.  His current portfolio includes Estate Planning, Wealth Creation and Protection for Individuals and Business owners. It is all about finding the most suitable solution to the need of the customer.

  • Bertie van der Walt
    Bertie van der Walt B Com LLB

    Bertie worked for Old Mutual for more than 30 years in various senior management positions, which, inter alia, included responsibility for an employee benefits division. He was CEO for Old Mutual’s businesses in Namibia and Kenya respectively. He is currently a fully FSB and Old Mutual accredited advisor to a portfolio of pension and provident fund customers.

  • Faan Fourie
    Faan Fourie BA Hons

    Faan started his career at Old Mutual as an Independent Contractor, whereafter he joined fulltime as a Trainee Production Manager in the Randburg Branch. He was soon promoted to Sales Manager, Branch Manager, Regional General Manager and later Head of AFD. His passion is to assist people in becoming financially independent and he specialises in Retirement and Investment planning as well as Retirement Funds.  He believes that his clients deserve to receive the most appropriate advice at all times.

  • Koos Dreyer
    Koos Dreyer

    Koos was the first Franchise Adviser to be appointed in the Western Cape when the Old Mutual Franchise division was launched in 2006.  Prior to joining the financial services industry, he worked at a law firm and received his training as a Financial Adviser through the Old Mutual Training Academy. Koos is based in the Strand and services the Strand and surrounding areas. He has more than 14 years’ experience in the financial service industry currently focussing on Investment Planning and Short-Term insurance through Old Mutual Insure (Previously Mutual & Federal).

  • Mark Dotchin
    Mark Dotchin

    Mark has over 30 years’ experience in the financial service sector. He worked in various positions at Old Mutual since 1980, starting in the individual financial planning field before specialising in the group risk and retirement fund segment. He has extensive experience in account management and consultation services for large, medium and small retirement funds. Mark is currently an adviser to a portfolio of pension and provident fund customers.

  • Theunis Visagie
    Theunis Visagie CABB; MDP.

    Theunis brings 40 years of experience in commercial banking and Long-Term Insurance for both personal and business risk cover, wealth creation and employee benefits. He has exceptionally high integrity values, interpersonal skills and is a firm believer in going above and beyond to analyse and satisfy personal and business financial needs.

  • Gill Northcote
    Gill Northcote

    Gill joined Empfin Solutions in June 2019 and has brought with her many years of administrative skills.  She previously worked at Old Mutual PFA  for four years and her career background has mostly been in the Financial Services and Banking industry.  She is very customer-centric and no task is too much to ask of her since she believes in going the extra mile.  She is our Office Administrator and supports both the Corporate and Retail Financial Advisors.

  • Lionel Claassens
    Lionel Claassens

    Lionel started his career at Old Mutual in 2010 and went through all the training to become a fully qualified Financial Adviser. During his career with Old Mutual, he served as chairman of the area’s social club as well as the sought after motivational 51 Club. Lionel joined Empfin Solutions to be in a position to later take over the practices of Andre Claassens and Faan Fourie.

    He has a diversified practice and has been awarded Millionaire status with Old Mutual Insure since 2013 and shortly thereafter with Santam in 2015. He is the only adviser in Empfin Solutions that can serve Santam customers. His primary focus is pre-retirement and succession planning for both individuals and businesses.

  • Tania Dreyer
    Tania Dreyer

    Tania started in the shortterm industry in 1995 as a secretary.  At the time she did Mutual and Federal quotes,  client liason, claims and general admin at PFA for a Financial advisor.  In 2007 she started working for attorneys as general secretary and was exposed to the Legal industry.  In 2012, she started working for Koos Dreyer, managing his OMinsure (Mutual & Federal) book.

  • Elmar Stander
    Elmar Stander

    Elmar is an employee benefits adviser to small and medium size businesses which are successful and want to find and keep the best talented staff  in the business. He focuses on pension and provident funds and then also advise on short term insurance to both individuals and business.

    Elmar worked for Old Mutual for 31 years in the areas of sales training, marketing, business development and business transformation. Elmar believes in doing the right thing and thus ensuring his clients get the most appropriate solutions in terms of what they require.

     

CSI

Hannes Norval is a board member of Ons Plek, a Cape Town-based street child project for abandoned girls to equip and prepare them for their future lives.
